@beruoist: You need to to take your vehicle also for inspection to the new insurance company, with your Registration Certificate. If you have your expired insurance copy, it is even better. The insurer will declare an IDV (Insurer Declared Value) for your vehicle after inspecting the condition&going by the market value for current year vs.cost of vehicle. After this, you will be given a policy which will be valid for 1 year.

@onlinesatish: That reminds me, I need to get my Fiero F2's insurance renewal done by end of this month too!

@satyenpoojary: I am paying the ICICI premium for 15 years. There is no cash benefit also, only cashless hospitalization. So, they had better give a large cover amount!

You are one of the few who have opted for a good term policy! usually no cash back means high cover! Enjoy a tension free life (as ICICI calls it )!

        Re: Help:Insurance!

I would suggest you to approach some experts in the insurance field or some reputed insurance brokers in India. They will guide you in selecting the most competitively priced insurance from highly rated companies for your bike in an unbiased manner. Moreover, they will also take care of claims and settlements.

there is one more important thing when changing insurance companies.
if u have not claimed your insurance then you are entitled to No Claim Bonus(NCB) this NCB can be transferred to a new company also will reduce your premium!!
even while buying a new vehicle you can use NCB of a previous insurance for your old vehicle.
