    Going from 150cc to 1000cc

    I am planing to buy a 1000cc bike soon, most probably the new CBR 1000RR ABS, i currently own & ride Yamaha FZ-16, i know there is no comparison between the two, but i have read many articles which say, you should gradually get a faster bike like first get a 250cc then 600cc & then a 1000cc. But what i want to know is that how difficult will it be if i straight away get the 1000cc bike, i know i have to be very careful with it. Plus i think it will cost a lot money if i go by the gradually get a faster bike way.

    Query Approved.

    This has been discussed time and again. If you are responsible enough, mature enough to know what's 'under' you (a 1000cc monster), and if you can keep that right wrist and your temperament under control, then there is really no reason why you shouldn't get a 1000cc, from the FZ-16!

    Seriously, think about it!

        if u got the budget,go for a 250(ninja),then go for a 600cc(honda or yam)
        and then rule the roads with the 4cylinders...
        this way u will get hell a lot of experience abt handling,the power u got under u and also the maintanence costs(spares,servicing,etc)..
        so when u finally get ur 1000cc,u can enjoy it completely...
        may be if u think investing on a 250 would be a waste of money as ur planning for a 1000cc,see the 450's or the 600's..

        but it's all upto u bro...
        i'm planning something on the similar basis..won't go for a 1000cc but will get a 600cc honda or an r6 after i get the ninja250...

          if you have the moolah and want to buy 1000cc?
          why stop in between just go and grab it.
          there is no rocket science involved to ride a SBK(unless you plan to take her on track),you just need to be sensible and have respect for its power

            i know the 250cc ninja is going to be launched soon, but the R6 or another 600cc bike is not even on the horizon, i really don't want to go to the dealer as i don't want any DRI trouble, but if you are ok with it, then its great man, this is another reason, i would shift straight to 1000cc as they are officially launched.

              gradually increasing the capacity always help....
              jumping to 1000 cc is practically much more than u can handle....

              graduating from a 152cc (to be precise) to a monster 1000cc 180ps machine is not recommended...considering the fact that u dont have any experience to ride them even.....

                Do you even know how to ride a bike? Do you have Balls to control a 1000cc? What you think of yourself? A superman? Huh???

                If such questions boil your blood then you should make the theoretical jump of 150-250-400-600-1000.

                If not, then let us know when you are going to buy your 1000cc ?

                  Raoul Black,

                  Just go for it. All you need to have is a steady throttle hand. As long as you don't whack open/twist the throttle, you'll be good to go. Once you get the hang of the turbine like power and a clear road, you can twist the throttle open and enjoy the rush.

                    ^^ I agree. I have seen Xbhp members' testimonies, riding a Sbk for first time, and doing exceptionally well. That too in cities ... Just buy it, and be careful. That's all.

                    If you still feel scared first time, don't accelerate, just try releasing the clutch slowly ... You'll get used to it. It ain't rocket science ... Go for it!

                          Lesser Price Than CBR
                          Power Is Much Lesser Than 2009 CBR Coz The 09 CB is 07 Fireblade Engine, Why I Choose CB For You, As You Said This SBK Is Your First Bike

                            Also, bad weather riding of CB is better than CBR. Reviews say so.
