    I suggest just listen to your heart and go for it how ever always remember "With great power, comes great responsibility". Dont you ever ride without proper gear and never go crazy in traffic as you will threat to your self and others as well. Keep the devil, in that right wrist of yor's, under control and you will be good to go.

    Psst .... Even i am planning to upgrade from the FZ16 to the Suzuki GSXR1000, just waiting for it to launch here & FYI the Yamaha FZ1000 is also on the list of SBK's to be released soon.

      But i think my heart is set on the new Fireblade, i will drive her properly & will always remember that there is 1000 cc MONSTER under me.

        This is rubbish. If you have a sound head on mature shoulders, you will handle it with aplomb.

        Good for you. Good decision. Go get it. Do let us know when you do it. Then take a camera and shoot it right from the showroom. Then we will have an "Official Fireblade" thread maybe.
        The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

          Thats right. If you can afford it, go for it. Just remember that in case of a SBK, a tiny upward twist of your right hand could lead to someone or you dying if you are not careful enough. I guess that is enough to have you cautious all the time!
          Coming to the fun part, well, I don't need to explain it-everyone knows the joy of riding a superbike!
          Quench my thirst with gasoline!

            I went from a 1962 Enfield 350 to a Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa...

            I've maxxed it out on the road...and thrown it around on the track at Road Atlanta...but not on Day #1 of course.

            Take your time with it and you'll find it much easier to ride a sportbike than the crap they dish out to us here in India.

              For a first time superbiker any bike that he might buy, the power will be wayyyy beyond what he has been accustomed to right now, so why stop now? You better go for a faster model take a little more time to learn rather than buying a slower bike and then finding out that it is'nt suffiecient
