• Something Happened Very Strange With MY SZ-R

Hi Friends,

Yesterday while cleaning my bike in the night, I have seen a broken end of a black tube coming from the left side panel (Airbox side). I have pulled out it without any effort. It was a black tube with little bit thicker than petrol tube. I don't know from-to where it was connected. Bike is running with out any problem, so I though that, it is the petrol overflow pipe for carburetor. But the spare parts showroom(ASC) is saying that it will be transparent tube for overflow. There are also not able to identify the broken pipe. psr ji and sibun ji request your help on this.

Thanks,
Nidin

Topic Approved.

It could be anything, could be crankcase air balancer, or maybe petrol tank overflow router, or anything else too.

Only a talented owner or mechanic will be able to clarify this.

Hi Samarth,

Thanks for your reply. I have visited a local mechanic in my area. On seeing the rubber tube, he immediately said to me that it's the air vacuum pipe from carburetor. And fixed it after cutting the broken end of the same tube. And the overflow tube was not there in the carburetor. As per the mechanic, this is not required as the carburetor is well clean which will not make any overflow. Some times local mechanics are better than showroom guys.

Thanks,
Nidhin

Can you post a pic of the tube ?
if it was the vacuum pipe that was disconnected, the bike wouldn't have been able to idle without you constantly gunning the throttle or might have shown some other symptom. i might be wrong, but a pic of the tube would help understand better

Sorry, I can't post the picture here. Pls refer the attached diagram, it is the part number 10. The term 'vacuum tube' might be wrong, I think.

And can you ensure other end of the tube is left opened?

It looks like a vent tube to me, am not sure how it is routed on the sz but the other end is probably open.
your best bet is to check on another sz at the svc.
