  • [Photo Feature]: Will an NGK iridium spark plug do better on my Honda Hornet CBS

    Hi all,

I am very new to Xbhp and a novice to all the technical details. I would like to know if I could replace my stock NGK spark plug with an NGK Iridium plug on my new Honda Hornet CBS. Even though the specs talk about 14.76 NM @6500 rpm, however, I feel a lack of pick up may be after 5000-6000 RPM. I did check the condition of the spark plug at the nearest workshop, but the plug seems fine. I feel really disappointed to find lack of torque after exiting a curve on 3rd gear and then up shifting to 4th gear. I could take it to 2nd gear also before the turn but, I am afraid this will spoil the bikes condition on the long run. I find 3rd, 4th and the 5th gears not delivering sufficient power to a riding fanatic's expectation.

The bike is only less than a month old, but I ride 80 kms every day on an average because I am a sales guy. Its been more than a week after the first service and there is a good difference in the condition of the gear( was very tight in the beginning). The total kms run is 1566 kms and I regularly check the oil level and chain slackness. I got it tightened and lubed 3 times since I bought the bike and the workshop technicians uses cleaner and lube of Motul.

I guess you must have identified the actual problem from the above symptoms and please advise on how to improve the bikes performance or advise if there is any problem on the way I ride.

    Thanks and regards
