i have one more doubt now. can a rx100 bore be bored out to 52mm? will the bore sustain?
and can we use custom chrome piston ring from a local company say USHA pistons or Indian Pistons?

In general how will the performance change with a chrome piston rings?

sorry guys no updates yet. due to some doubts i have asked my mech not to start the work. my mech says for now we will bore it out to 51.25 and use a local piston. once when i gt the right answers for all my doubts i will continue and bore it out to 52 bore and piston work. so tomorrow i will get my bike back bored out to 51.25 and a local usha piston as stop gap arrangements. the piston is coming free of cost and its only for bore work i have to pay.

          Update:

Bike is back from mechanic shop. used fifth oversize piston. bike running better than the previous build. carefully running in with right quantity of oil mixed with petrol.adding nearly 30 ml for a litre of petrol. sounds smooth but still get milling sound from the bore. Mech says he has used a local USHA piston . he says run this setup for seven months and then we shall get the 5 speed setup completely. and the current setup will get proper porting and can be used for races. mech claims bike will easily do 110-115
i ask him for 150 and he says get me funds and he will get me that numbers.

i tell the same to my dad, he laughs it out and says
"wipe that grin off otherwise people will wonder what you are upto"

Usha piston and what sound can you expect rather than milling

My advances wishes for the races.

which other local piston would have done? the piston came free for me atleast. but on the lighter side which other piston i would have got?
i got the work done for just Rs.475
and any chances of reducing the milling sound?
btw mech says the piston is tightly placed inside the bore like you mentioned for your bike.

              and
ya psycho wishes for the race....

i think you missed the last part of the post.

Is your main intention towards getting it done cheap or better quality, least option would be sam anything lower than that reliability goes for toss, i am using a goetze on my bike, your mech said that the clearance is tight did you cross check by placing the rings in the bore, if you have some time left this or any weekends check velocity's bike and gimme your feedback on it i have recently given it a major surgery.

I don't trust local mechs. Why don't you take it to the Yamaha dealer? He may charge you more, but you will have peace of mind like you have with a new vehicle!

psycho getting it cheap is not the intention but my mech is the one who suggested me to run this.he says lets not waste money for oversizing. conversion is definitely on cards so he says till then you can run this setup than the seized engine.
the bore was oval before the previous setup. so i doubt that is the reason for the piston slapping in the previous build.that might have carrid to this as well.
regarding the clearance i will check with the mech this weekend or the next.
i am trying to find some time to check out your ride as well as velocity's.

was velocity running his last oversize when it was taken in for surgery?

i trust my mechanic. he is atleast not pulling out a gag on me. i trust his work. may be he is not a qualified engineer but the amount of time and patience he puts into his work tells everything.
he gave life back to my dead kinetic honda and its jumping around now.
                    that justifies everything.
