  • Lack of Pickup by my P200

    HEy all,
I need some help in the way of advice, suggestions & opinions. My 200's pick up has reduced(to the point that a chevorlet spark was keeping up from a redlight drag with me almost redlining....now i know from exp. that this is real real slow....).

The last time this had happened I had gone to the service centre and they had told this was a problem and mentioned it as "gear loading". Now, does anybody know what they're referring to? I'm asking this Q so that i understand what the problem is fully, before giving it off for repair.

When you want something done at Probiking Chennai, enter the gate, climb up the first stairs you see, the door opens automatically so you don't have to do that, keep going until you reach the inner sanctum, knock on the door, ask for Mr. Narayan, and tell him your problem.

Any other course of action, will take much longer and ultimately will lead to to Mr.Narayan, so take a shortcut

Gear loading is the localized term ( chennai slang :P) for 'Balancer Shaft Overloading' and as far as i know, thats got nothing to do with the Pick up.

Replace the fuel filter, check if the rear brakes are on all the while, adjust chain slackness, and don't forget to have your air filter cleaned.

Do get your CO checked too and depending on how many kms you've done, get your throttle body cleaned too.

For the record, you haven't ridden anything else much more powerful in the last couple of weeks right? Maybe its just a feeling

Can you please explain the term "Balancer Shaft Overloading"? I am curious to know what exactly it means? I have tried searching on Google but without success.
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Stick to PBKing is my advice, for atleast a couple thousand kilometres atleast..

                  I don't think the P200 has a fuel filter.
Will check the other things although i got the CO adjusted just recently.
Chain slackness and sprocket problems can't be an issue as these have been replaced at 12.5k kays.
Lets see...the thing is I think I'm having a placebo effect...although I can't forget the drag incident. And if i say 'no pick up' to the probikin mechs...they musually take it out for a spin and tell theres no problem at wqhich i begin to doubt myself.

Re: Lack of Pickup by my P200

Am too facing such problems with my P200.
Lost all power/acceleration I had in the past.
I really wonders why there is no smoke from exhaust, no change in mileage (city @ 48 , Highway @ 53) but engine is very noisy like an electric motor running and heats up even in chilling cold winter nights.
The exhaust also knocks (like put-put) when decelerated.
Does the oil cooler stays very much heated after few km run (total oil cooler with its supply & return)
Can anyone help me out !!!!
                    Thanks

Re: Lack of Pickup by my P200

Okay ...some mechanic told me to just replace the diaphragm rather replacing the whole carb.
Can I go ahead with diaphragm or total carb ??
