  • RX135 - Rear suspension

Guys, the rear shox in my RX is broken, looking to replace them. I feel the stock shox (gabriel/escorts) are bit hard and you really dont feel any cushioning effect. I'm looking for a shox which would give a smooth & cushioned ride. I consulted with 2 mech's, one of'em suggested the nitrox shox which comes in the new discoverer and the other suggested rtr shox.

Has anyone tried these on RX's before ? Any other suggested choice apart from these ? One other thing, would it require any modification to fit these new type shox ?

Thanks in advance for all your suggestions.

You can fit those dual SNS shocks found in most entry level bajaj bikes. think its a straight fit.No mod needed.

i suggest you go for gabriel/escorts shox only for the better ride quality.they are the best designed shox for rx series.

btw i have seen people go for sns suspensions without any modifications and switch back to stock shox.

get Endurance shocks...they are a direct fit and offer a comfy ride !!

PERSEVERE... failure is not an option!

fix the orginal shox (escorts or gabriel) , as you need to stick to the original bikes ride height so that the handling is not affected

nitrox from heavy bikes like pulsar, rtr (weighing >140 kg) etc will make the rear hard which will end up making the front wander. RX is a 98 kg bike

After lot of delibration i decided to go with the OE shox (gabriel). The pair costed be 1080 with 6 months warranty. The ride comfort is still short of the 4S bikes, maybe the RX can never match 4S bikes interms of ride comfort.

Thank u guys for all your suggestions.

what modifications do you think are required ?? they are a direct fit. plug and play, so to speak. i changed to SNS rear suspension for my rx-135 very recently, and am very happy with it. ride quality is greatly improved.

if it so, congrats for the better handling ride dude. but i am sure with a pillion the ride will be different. ride more and you will start seeing the results.
btw are you running a 16incher on your bike in the rear?

the main improvement is in fact with a pillion. my wife finds the new setup much more comfy and so do I. its much more easier on the back. i have in fact set it at the softest setting. agreed, i don't try flicking and throwing around the bike that much. but i haven't really found anything really amiss, or drastically changed, because i have been on the same bike for 11 years now, and i would realise if something was really bad or wrong. its definitely become softer. compared to the exceptionally hard setup earlier, it sort of glides now. again, i am saying compared to the original stock setup, not in comparison with the newer bikes with the gas shocks.

i am running the stock rims.

nice to know man. but again i say its with one's perspective. cos i have seen people coming back to stock escorts/gabriel shocks from SNS complaining the handling/ride quality.
well if you are happy with it then ride on mate.
                          happy and safe riding.
