pretty good deal imo, and the bike smokes newer 150s out of the air, im guessing its my break-in method (motoman's)
So i was thinking of doing a upg at the time of restore, but things ****ed up and i went with only the restore (boreKit piston timingChain valves plates).
The upg was something like 220-boreKit, piston, crankShaft, connectingRod, bearings, head or porting+(or camshaft and valves &maybe even timing assy), clutch cover, oil cooling assy, chain sprocket kit, used gears from a totaled bike(scavenge as much as possible on the whole thing). Make an exhaust(metal works owner is a neighbour of mine), swing arm(kaichi?? lol).
Comes down to 20+-5k. calculated ad approximated using current pricing from bajaj's ASS (pun intended)
My whole point was that will it be faster than a stock 220? as the 150 i have weighs 134kg dry and the 220 weighs 150kg dry. a 16 kg difference without weight reduction. by faster i mean will it produce more hp than the 220 being lighter? or it doesnt matter? i think it will put more hp to the wheels while the engine making more or less the same power, plz confirm.
by my calculations (hp/weight)
150 stock 12hp/134kg 0.0895522388059701
220 stock 21hp/150kg 0.14
150 to 220 assuming it to be 21hp/140kg 0.1428571428571429
a 0.08 to 0.14 sounds good to me and 0.142 even better
assuming 140 cause of the change to the new clutch cover, extra clutch plate and the oil cooling assy.
so if it potentially makes 25hp (somehow) to the wheels, im a happy guy. would think about forced induction as well. and ill be making a new body for it to look sick af(not gonna be a ricer here)
Need some info about tiny turbos available in india. or which junkyard part i could use.
My Rationalization according to Expense-
New 220 - 90k ex-showroom
My (kinda)220 - 25k+25K+10K(body work) = 60k
I'm gonna cheap out and bring it down to 50k, but set the upper limit to 60.
Query 1: What do you think about my idea? i have 20-30 k and my bike will fetch me around 10k(2006 es dtsi 150) so selling it and buying a kinda inefficient 220 isnt really pleasing to me.
Query 2: from 1-10, how good is a rebore? thinking about buying a used bore and find the right forged piston for it.
Query 3: How big can one safely bore a 220 block?
Query 4: Where do i find Forged pistons for the 220 block and maybe even oversized ones.
Query 5: Is the Clutch cover from the 220 a direct fit for Pulsar 150 2006 ES DTSi ?
Query 6: How does one increase compression without forced induction(turbo)? Little longer piston im guessing... Does a high lift cam(or crank??) also work? If so, where do i find one?
Query 7: Does the P220 crankshaft fit in the p150? I read it needs some modification to do so, which nulls the purpose(plz clarify), or change the gearbox(wut?? when did bikes start to have gear "boxes")
Query 8: Does the above plan require major structural changes to the drivetrain? If so i plan on swapping engines from a totaled 220 and swapping out the unusable parts.
Query 9: If i were to plonk another bikes engine in the frame, which ones, that make more power fit fairly easily(understatement), i like thinking about karizma's monster here, or even a ****ed up duke
.Later on.. Where can i find a small enough turbo to fit the 220 or bigger motor? (In India)
Guys, Ive put a lot of thought into this and "sell this, buy used 220" reply isnt gonna help, or if you have a suitable plan which involves the engine of the vehicle being brand new(within my budget, 30k+10k if i sell the existing), im all ears.
Looking forward to your answer.
