  • How to reduce stiffness on clutch lever? Easy Clutch?

    Hi to all,
My RD350's [1986 LT] clutch feels too hard for me. eventhough im used to it over these years, off late, im suffering from pain on my fingers. I do a lot of city riding and clutch lever needs to be kept pulled all the time on signals & traffic blocks this makes my fingers really painful. My mech says he cant help me out in this regard. I have made all the possible adjustments.. on the lever and on the crank side adjuster nut. still in vein. mech says its due to the heavy springs that come on the RD and we have no way to reduce it.

Will using an "easy clutch" solve my issue? i've heard that it will reduce the pressure on the lever by 30%. I have bought one from the local parts store. costed me 550/- bucks. will install it on my bike today. but mech is suspicous of its results on an RD. hmm.. please post ur experiences with the "easy clutch" and state how relaible it was? does the small aluminium lever [inside one]on an easy clucth break easily? have heard of such an issue with it.. hmm.. then im planning to make a spare one out of billet aluminium

How much it cost. My mech put me elongated lever which is 1.5 cm longer than the actual pulsar 180 clutch arm. I can say almost 60% stiffness gone. Very smooth in operation similar to yamaha gladiator clutch.

550/- bucks.. infact im using pulsar levers too.. after my front disc conversion. its a short lever.. earlier i was using an Enticer lever which had more leverage.. well, i cant revert back to it.. the only option i can think of is the Avenger lever.. any of you guys are using avenger chrome levers on a pulsar.. ? is it a ditect fit [on the pulsar front brake master cylinder unit?].. i mean the right side one? the brake lever.. i have Endurance unit on my bike.. not KBX.. who manufactures the avenger brake unit?

I have a P150. Greasing the clutch cable, especially at the lever end has helped me a lot.
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Im using the RD cable itself.. no, its not jammed or rusted at all.. this stiffness is usual to all RDs as far as i know.. its bcoz of the heavy clutch springs[6 nos.].. mine is a personal issue.. that im suffering from pain on my fingers.. and im trying for a solution.. i know, the last resort will be a hydraulic clutch.. but such a conversion is too complex & expensive.. i'll have to shed around 8k which i cant afford thesedays.. somebody in old XBhp had done such a mode on his RD and had posted pics..

Yes, i know that.. a lot of RD guys in and around NCR are using hydraulic clutches.. i believe Sumeet is the man behind such wonderful jobs. anyways, i have a plan for such a conversion. But the difficulty is that i wont be able to take my bike to Delhi... then it wont be cost effective
