Yes, we initially did have different riding styles. I was more timid (too timid actually until 1000kms), but now that I'm more confident and am riding like a normal person, I would like the added pick up at the lower ranges.

Im talking about significantly lower RPM gains until 6K to 7K. You can see why this would concern me. Anyone who rides my bike feels the same way. I can definitely feel his bike kicking me back whenever I twist it. I don't get that kick in my R15 until I reach > 7K on the tachometer.

Get the clutch checked by your mechanic. One of probable reason also for sluggish performance.
    Avoid noise pollution. Avoid honking.

Re: R15 pick up sluggish due to improper break-in ? [SOLVED]

      Update

Left my bike at the svc for a much needed third service at 6000 Kms. Mentioned the pickup issue to the mechanic and after a test ride, he said my bike has better pickup at higher rev ranges and indeed lower pickup at lower revs. He didnt know what to do to rectify it and just said that he will do some routine maintenance besides an oil change.

Got the bike a few days ago and I find the problem to be no more. I have much better pickup all over the RPM ranges now. Significantly more than before and slightly more than my friend's R15.

I used to be only at 120 when my friend reached 130. Now its the other way around

Routine maintenance and an oil change can do more than I imagined.

If I may add 2 more points.

        1. Keep the chain clean and well lubed. A dirty chain will cause unwanted harshness and vibrations at high speed. A clean and well lubed chain will make the bike very smooth and will increase the mileage, as there is no power loss in overcoming the extra friction caused by dirt and grime.

        2. Make sure that the tire pressure is optimum. A tire with low pressure will develop cracks overtime and a high pressure tire will make the bike bouncy and jumpy at high speeds which may result in loss of control.

Glad to know that your issue is resolved. Ride safe.
