  • Help! Someone tried stealing my motorcycle! First few steps in approaching this?

Hello everyone! First post here so please excuse any mistakes regarding forum rules.
Woke up this morning to my new apache 2004V with its steering lock broken. Somehow rode it to svc and they will be welding it back in place. They were shocked as to how my security didnt hear a sound and even more shocked that i didnt lose my bike because they were almost done(the mechanic opened the lock with one swing of a small hammer). They suggested that it could also be a deliberate attempt to damage the bike.
I live in south bangalore and I park it inside my apartment which has a short jumpable gate and a security(who sleeps all night after a few drinks even). Its been parked here for the last couple of months and my old activa has been here for over a year too. I havent heard of thieves trying to steal bikes from inside of an apartment. The street behind my apartment has all its bikes parked outside. Its my first bike and i am really scared now. Have no idea if parking it in my friends place(out on the road in a different area) for a few days will help or not. Will surely buy a disk lock, fork lock and chain now. Somehow lucked out this time but i cant rely on that anymore.
What else can i do immediately and also in long term(regarding where i can safely park untill the thief forgets about this and also safety measures etc for future).
What are the first steps i can take now that i know someone wants my bike?
Can i file a complaint without any evidence(no cctv camera here)?
