  • Leak in Bajaj Discover 135 cc

I have a Bajaj Discover 135 cc, around 10 days back I gave it for the 2nd free service (it has run around 2500 km till date). After I got the bike back from service there is a small leak in the bike.

In the mornings there would be some liquid material present on the ground just behind the bike stand. 3-4 days back I took it to the bajaj service station(Domlur, Bangalore) and those people said that its chain oil, that too much oil was put on the chain and the extra is coming off. I dont know how
much oil should be put on the chain, can some one please tell me this?

But even now there is a leak, and i dont think that its chain oil. Can someone please tell me what all kinds of oils are put in a Discover? (I just know about engine oil, and brake oil for the front disc brake). Also what could be possibly leaking?

The bike is running fine otherwise, I have even taken it over 90kmph, but this leak is worrying me a bit.

Dont worry most probably its the oil/grease put on the chain if the oil is black n thick.

However If stain is yellowish color oil then its the engine drain nut that is not tightened properly .

Don't worry about it, it happens for couple of days after service.

Your bike has full chain cover right? When the service station people lube the chain they do it very generously. Excessive oil on the chain drips to the ground or as in your case gets accumulated in the chain cover and then drips from there slowly. Check the lowerside of the chain cover with your hand and you may feel that it is wet with oil. That's where your leak is. Do this when the bike is cold though else you'll end up with a nasty burn.

Its just excess chain oil dripping. Don't worry about that.
