    Query Approved.

I suggest taking your bike to the service center or a good mechanic and getting it tuned. That should, more or less solve the problem.

I too have a friend whose ZMA gives 25 kmpl ... But his reason is very clear - he rides in 3rd gear mostly (due to city's condition) at varying rpm from 1.8 to 3 krpm...

So, firstly have a look at your riding style. and try to remain in upper 2 gears ... Even if you are able to maintain 4th, about 50% time, you'll make a good mileage reading ...

Keep "General" Things in mind :--> Avoid fat tyres, Switch off engine at signals, avoid unnecesary gearshifts, etc...

I know this is repeated many times, but often we forget to follow them ... Good Luck!

and reg. e-mail, I suppose it is much beneficial for Xbhp Community, if posts are made here, so everyone can read them ...

Samarth, even if you ride at 3k rpm in 3rd gear, 27 kmpl is very very less. Even in city rides, I used to get 35-40 kmpl, with fat tyres too.

Well, someone hinted this to me earlier that 25 is way too low, and 35-40 can be achieved easily ...

The strange thing is that while we have enough members saying that it gives 40, I also have enough friends saying that only 25-30 kmpl is given ... Both these sides have many bikers.

So, what could be the exact reason?

It depends a lot on riding style and riding conditions. Those who get 25-30 mileage generally give rapid throttling and take them to higher rpms at lower gears. If tuning is good in this condition, he would generally achieve around 30-32 kmpl. If tuning is bad, he would get even 25-27 mileage. Also, presence of fatter tyres combined with bad quality fuel and less quantity fuel will make FE more worse.

Those who get 35-40 kmpl would generally avoid riding in traffic to the max possible; see that the bike is tuned properly; they would give reasonable throttle and shift gears at optimum rpms; they would keep an eye on quality of the fuel, and go to a trusted Petrol pump where they would not cheat on quantity of the fuel.

So, the FE is affected by:
              Riding style.
              Riding conditions
              Tuning
              Quality of the fuel
              Quantity of the fuel
              Presence of Fatter tyres.

Various combinations of these factors would result in FE accordingly.

My friend gets a mileage of 32-34 only and the best he achieved was 38kmpl which he drove to test the mileage at lower speeds...
