What other thing has changed except for this light? Has the engine shown signs of being stressed or heating, or any other trouble?

Did they connect their diagnostic tool and check? If not, get it done.. this would usually throw up the error code/diagnostic information.

I had faced a similar issue on my 2016 R15 S during the first month of ownership.

Had you leaned/dropped your bike on its side before this issue happened ?

In my case the orange engine light glowed for 8-10 seconds after I had leaned the bike too much on its left side while parking it; I thought the side stand had been engaged but I was wrong and almost dropped the bike on the left side. The engine immediately cut off once the bike crossed 45-50 degrees of lean angle.

After that incident the orange light did come up a few times over the next couple of days and then magically it stopped just as I was thinking of taking to the SVC.

I'm not sure if this could be the case with your R15 but just to be sure get all the sensors (lean angle, temperature, O2,etc) diagnosed at a SVC where they have testing facility.

Agreed with @yamahamann.

I had dropped my May-2106 R15S twice so far, in-place (Not moving). And because of the lean angle sensor acting up, the bike cut of the engine both times, presumably for safety measures and the orange light came up. Stayed there for 10 seconds approx and went away after pressing the kill switch off and on.

Afterwards, never faced this. So probably the sensor acting up on its own, better to get that side checked.

I onced had an issue when some chock/fuse or something was malfunctioning causing electrical flow fluctuations to one of the sensors or fuel pump (I don't exactly remember which part). It was a very cheap fix. Please go to a SVC where they have a diagnosis unit and(someone who knows how to operate it properly &#128513. In my case only the light was blinking, bike didn't had any performance issues or anything, mine happened around at 20k mark

May be you can check if it is a bug/Error by resetting the electrical/ECU

1.Remove your battery terminals (positive and negative ) and reconnect to check if the issue still persists

2. Remove your ECU and try reconnecting to check the same

Everythings seems to be fine, couple of days before I am experiencing heating of the engine as I need to change the oil and coolant.

Just I am worried aabout the engine trouble light as explained in the thread.I am not able to understand why the horn sound gets distorted when the trouble lamp glows?

I got it checked with the FI diagnostic tool by the Yamaha personnel.They are like until and and unless the light doesn't glows when they connect the FI tool they will not be able to capture the error code.But the issue happens when the bike is in running state.

Yes, I did leaned my bike but to the right side.The engine stopped and needed a restart.It happened during a steep turning.
As far as I remember after this incident the issue got into action.

I will get the sensors checked once again.

Is there any possible way to get a diagnostic tool anywhere in Bangalore or through any website?
One thing more, Does coolant needs to be replaced fully after any interval of time or top will do??

Am not sure what type of port the r15 has to connect the diag tool. Cars usually have a standard obd2 port, while a motorcycle like the ktm here has a custom obd2 port. So you might have to find a compatible cable to connect the generic diag tool (which are available in plenty on ebay.. like the elm. search for obd2 scanner)
And such generic tools might not be able to give out all error codes corresponding to your bike.. And I have no idea what kind of tool and what information the yamaha's tool provides. Remember the issue might not be with the fi system but as others pointed out could be any other sensor like the lean angle sensor.

Why dont you try to swap the lean angle sensor from another bike and also try to disconnect the battery for a few minutes and connect it back.

Coolant ideally needs to be replaced every 2 years (drain completely and refill with new coolant).
