Honda Shine Problems Not Ending!!
I had purchased Honda Shine about 14 months ago. After about a month of usage, the bike used to give jerks, stalling, etc... Like it's not tuned properly. During the 1st service, the problem was solved but just after 15 days it used to occur again. This went on for a couple of services. (They solving the problem & after 15-20 days it again appearing) On my last free service, I decided to speak with head mechanic & his suggestion was to change the jets and see if the problem disappears. They did that. And now after a few months, my bike stalls and refuses to start. The mechanic said that its a compression issue! I was like %#:#%! Compression issue on a 14 month old bike ridden 7k kms, that also very sedate driving! I'm really disappointed with Honda. What can be done now guys? Can i complain against Honda? Need your suggestions.Tags: None

Do you have a cold start issue, where the engine struggles to rev when cold and you have to twist the throttle 100% for it to respond? I own a Unicorn and I have this issue. Maybe your carburettor isnt tuned properly. Try getting it tuned by a god mechanic or do it yourself: http://**********.in/tuning-carburet...el-efficiency/
Every keeps talking about how Honda has awesome quality, but now I'm having a hard time believing this.

would you please elaborate your problem.your post does not make it clear like you are getting jerk in cold engine or hot engine or at particular RPMOriginally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostI had purchased Honda Shine about 14 months ago. Re: Honda Shine Problems Not Ending!!
Even one of my friends who just bought a shine 2 months back is facing issues.. in the morning it just wont start.. after a lot of hassle and choke it does start but then the fueling is so abrupt. It runs for a few kms and then it starts stalling as if theres no fuel.. went to the svc and they wrung open the throttle for 5 mins straight.. i kid you not.. and then the problem was gone for some time.. after 2 days it happened again and on calling svc their reply was to just rip the throttle for 5 mins and it will be okay.. after herefusedto do so they told him to run the bike with choke on.. all this after the first service.. the guys at honda have lost it.. extremely pathetic customer support and servicing.. i seriously feel disgusted by the attitude.. till the day webought the bike we were treated like superstars and since the day we have the bike its been utter nonsense from the svc..

Do one thing as soon as bike starts , drive for some 10-30 mts and engage choke , if performance improves and bike pulls cleanly, then you are running lean mixture and need to retune the carb. one month old bike and compression issue ? highly improbable . Change jets ? i dont see any reason to change jets if they are not damaged. Check for valve clearance using a feeler gauge, tight valves can cause stalling and compression leak. Gauge costs 2-300rs and can be bought online. If these efforts dont result in anything , send email to honda for a complete replacement.Originally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostI had purchased Honda Shine about 14 months ago. I also have Honda Shine Mar-2013 model and facing the same issue from past one year. It is not giving me a cold start problem but it stalls and sometimes it shuts down (while riding after engaging the clutch) and it really hard to start it.
For months I was assuming that it could be an AFR problem. So I got the carb cleaned and SVC guy adjusted the AFR. Now, problem is the same. It does not go off when idling but when I try to pull it, bike shuts down! My bike is at 42k kms mark, and I do not push it hard. What could be the possible reason??

planning to sell the bike in a yr.. Mostly changing the carburetor may solve the problem..
