    If you read the same statement that you quoted again, you'll see that I said I knew Stunner has a 125cc engine. What I meant was that Activa has a 100cc(<125) engine and its a Honda engine(same company which makes Stunner engine), then how can it beat the Stunner. Just wanted to clarify that I know my bike has a 125cc engine

    Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely mention the above points when I get the bike serviced. But so far, I've experienced that they merely do some routine checks on the bike, and they don't even do a test ride before returning it (figured this out from the odometer reading). I've been complaining of hard gears for the last 2 services, but I don't see any change! Is the quality of service poor because it was free, or is it generally bad even if its paid.

        I never faced any issues while riding stunners at higher than 60kmphs...

        but yes it dies down after 75-80kmphs..

        anyways honda doesnt make engines for performance here in india...

        get your bike checked, i sense something is wrong somewhere....

          Actually even i thought the same when i got my bike.. I have the gladi ss btw... There was some prob with the power of the bike when i got it, but well i jus thought that was how a 125cc bike performed... It would never go past 60... Only after my first service when the mech found the prob and rectified it did i realise that my bike did have some potential... Now i do an easy 75-80 on the bike... No probs at all... Your bike can surely perform better... Do show it to the SC...

            I felt the same when I test rode the Stunner. At exactly 50, vibrations started creeping in. However, when I did rev it to 60, vibrations disappeared! And it was doing around 80 on the speedo without much fuss. So, I think that is a characteristic of Stunners.

                Thanks everyone for the response. This forum is amazing. I've been following it for a couple of months but never made a post until now.

                My bikes next service is due 2 weeks from now. I hope they'll figure out what the problem is and fix it. I'll post an update when it happens. Btw, because of all the trouble I've been facing with my bike, I'm not happy with my current service center(Saphire Honda, JP Nagar, Bangalore). Do you guys know any better SC/mechanic in S.Bangalore?

                      Something interesting happened. Long post ...

                      I sent an email to Honda India Customer Care complaining about the bad service at Saphire Honda, Bangalore. Also, since my engine started leaking oil, I had to immediately get a technician have a look at it. So, I also called the service manager at Saphire Honda and blamed their poor service for the bad state of my bike. They requested me to bring the vehicle to their service center so that they could diagonise the problem. The technicain took the bike for a ride of less than a km and realised that there were a number of problems. This simply proves that they had never done a test ride in any of the prev services, or they wouldve figured out the problem a long time back. This time, I sat through 2.5 hrs with him while he worked on the bike. This was the first time I got to see my bike almost naked and I also learned quite a bit.

                      The washer under the oil drain valve was bad, and was responsible for the oil leak. The oil filter had a lot of dirt accumulated and had to be cleaned. Similarly, the air filter was also cleaned. Idle rpm was adjusted and chain was lubricated. Then there were a number of screws which he tightened. Didnt really understand but apparently one screw on top of the engine was responsible for the noise and 2 screws on the right, under the cluth plates, were responsible for hard gears. The tip of the spark plug was white which meant that the bike is tuned for better milage. I think this meant leaner air fuel mixture. But the engine was also over heating, so he adjusted the screw on the carb a little. But the biggest problem was the clutch plates had worn out and had to be replaced. Though I couldnt see any wear n tear visually, he said that the smell from the clutch plates can tell if they need to be replaced! It was surprising since clutch plates have a lifespan of 15000 kms, and they survived only 2800 kms on my bike. I mustve done some really screwed up driving for this to happen. Apparently this happens when we accelerate without completely disengaging the clutch. I don't think I do that except when changing from neutral to 1st gear, but anyway, will be more conscious when changing gears in the future.

                      Anyway, the best part was, that they did all this for free. The clutch plates are not covered under warranty, but they didnt charge for it and called it "Goodwill warranty"! I think they did it because they realised it was largely their fault that my bike was in such poor condition immediately after the 3rd free service. I also got a call from Honda Bangalore Regional office to make sure I was satisfied with their work.

                      Most of the above was OT. So let me add something which isn't. Now my bike feels much smoother, gears are softer too. Even now the bike feels a little shaky after 50kmph in top gear, but its not too bad and it remains almost constant till 80.

                            good. you got your bike in order and have learned a useful fact. But there's an extension to this fact - if you become a bigger pain then all they need is one chance to screw your bike.
