Hey Vikrant welcome to xBhp buddy and congrats on having a new shiny GS 150R

Well about your concern of rusted tank, I would suggest you that you take it back to the showroom from where you bought her and tell them to replace it..... so call them and take her their.... and keep us all updated

oh man thts sad to hear...but how did u noticed the rust inside the tank..itz not visible na.......

anyway they will not the replace the bike dude.."the showroom waale bahu chaalu rehte hai"(showroom service sucks big time).......they will onlly get ur tank replaced......by the way y r u having probs with that...i think....everything should b ok .....so go on with it...

it makes no difference to byk which is kept for 1 month or 1 year....just u should check the rusting of the parts and and engine oil should b changed...thts it...

get ur tank replaced ......well u can have a shot in requesting them for replacement of the bike.....u should sit on their heads to do that...even them hardly possible

First of all, I think you have been conned with a test ride vehicle. What did the odo reading say when you took delivery?
Secondly, if that is the case, please insist on a new bike. A new tank will in anycase be given to you free of cost.

i had the same suspicion .the odometer reading was showing exact 2 km when i took the delivery .when i asked about it the dealer told me that "all their bikes are tested by them for 2km".
now with gs150 , its odometer is connected to the transmission/engine {not the front wheel} so i don't know exactly how the 2 km reading could have come.
i would definitely get the fuel tank replaced in any case for free of cost but i just want to know whether i should push for getting a new bike instead.

2km is just fine. Come to a car forum where <50km on odo is fine, and some tata vehicles even have ~150km on delivery

Just replace the tank man.

As is, in India, most bikes are subject to all quality of horrendous fuel. Rust is the least of your worries.

I suggest you either get a clean tank, or just get the current tank COMPLETELY cleaned out very well under your supervision.

2 km.sounds fine. Nothing to worry about. Still, you can try your luck on getting a new bike! Tank replacement else.

guys you just can't trust the odo reading , if we just unscrew the cable at the tyre or remove it's connection with the meter console then odo will record nothing. Guys The vehicle that I test rode before buying(yamaha glady rs) had its odometer connection removed with the console,I could literally see the wire hanging out and even the battery connection of the test vehicle was removed so that the battery remained new.

Tank replacement should be good enough. Once the bike is sold, the engine no. and the chasis no are transferred in your name and the same is sent to the RTO and its very unlikely that they will replace the bike.
Get the Carb cleaned, fuel filter cleaned, tank replaced and a wash done:you should be good to go.

sad to hear that your New GS15 R was not that new, but nonetheless, feel free to speak to the Manager of the showroom who should be glad to get it replaced for free. also, your bike carries a warranty of 30,000 kms or 730 days which ever is earlier in case of any manufacturing defect as long as you carry out the services on the schedule.

in case if you still find it difficult to get it replaced, pm me , I might be able to get the things sorted out.

P.S: I am working as a G.M with a Suzuki Twowheeler Dealer in the North.

if d tank has rusted wen kept fr fewdays in showroom den thnk abt future bro....wat wl b d condition of tank aftr couple of months ....go fr replacement of bik n proper care has 2 be taken regarding it....

@VIKRANT: first of all, coongratts on ur new bike.

sorry to hear the problem buddy. its difficult to get the new bike. but as they are willing to replace tank, get it done~~ and some other things like vinfreak has said. Don't worry dude... but ur point of a new bike is I think valid. you can try it, but don't keep expectations. you can contact the Suzuki company officials and inform them. man, you (must have) paid amount for a new bike and you have right to get new bike. so calmly speak with company officials and prove your point to showroom guys. you will be lucky of u get new bike but as i said don't keep expectations, they hurt us

. be satisfied in replaced fuel tank- this is I think the best option. your bike will be as good as new one~!!~

I feel sorry for the Trouble U R Facing.

This is a Consumer World.

Take the Bike to them, Tell them U need a new Bike!!!
If Not U'll leave the Bike with them & Go to consumer Court.
They'll need to replace it if its a defective bike!!
However U need to prove that the Bike was defective when U took the delivery!!!
Else ask them for some compensation if they can't provide U the new Bike!!!
Some Good Will Gesture for the trouble U faced.

Stay calm, But Firm when U talk.
They'll do it!!

Here is my take, its absolutely rare that they will replace the bike, unless you are ready to give a BIG fight and escalate the matter to suzuki head office/consumer court etc and stuff like that (but ur case should be strong), even then there is no garuntee of replacement........I have my own story when I bought Ambition...similar kind

Also how did you come to know that the tank had rust. My showroom people were really supportive, I rode all 4 bikes on the display before choosing one, however they were all same except maybe the breaking was a wee bit better in the one I chose. My bikes first servicing was also up to mark, and the servic man was friendly and courteous enough, in contrary to the HH service I took which was too professinal unfriendly and most of all very arrogant....
