^^^They let you ride all four bikes?!?! If they let everyone do that, the bikes in effect become test-ride machines!!! And we all know the importance of running-in... most people who will come to ride those bikes will neither know nor bother much about all that!

When I bought my CBZ-x, I asked for the same - wanted to try out 2-3 bikes at least. But the showroom guys said its just not possible - even the petrol tanks of the new bikes are dry. We will pour in exactly 1 lt of petrol in the bike you choose. I said fine, I will choose a bike. Pour in the petrol... and then I want to at least hear the firing and the engine noise 1st... and then take a small test ride. If I can detect no problem in either stage, I'll take it. Else not. Reluctantly, they agreed...

well i dint get to chose the model before buying it.i asked about it but they told me its not their policy.

      story continues>>

well today i went back there and explained myself.they took the bike inside the service center. then a mechanic removed the tank and took pictures of the rusted parts {mentioned below} he told me he would send the pictures to gurgao and then i will get replacement of the parts at the time of my first service.

i asked about a meeting with the showroom director but at first i was told she doesn't handle sales but then she met me but she didn't seem to know much about anything.

then the head mechanic called the gurgao office and talked to the company engineer.then i talked to the engineer and explained my self that the bike is just two days old and already it has --
      1. rust inside fuel tank ,
      2. a little bit rust at the handle bar {on the exposed part of the
handlebar in the gap between accelerator and adjacent counter
      weight} and
3 a little bit rust near wheel alignment on the swing arm{bothside at
      the weld }.

he told me that i can get replacement for whichever part i want for free of cost but i can't get the whole bike replaced as it doesn't come under company warranty policy{he said it would mean guaranty if i change the whole bike} and since the registration of this bike has take place at the RTO, the engine number and the chassis number are registered in my name and whole bike cant be returned to company and i would have to keep same chassis and the engine.
the showroom staff was supportive at the end,but at first they were in denial then they went in defensive mode after i pointed them the rust at the handle bar and demanded complete new bike.

i asked whether this is the first incident and the mechanic told me there was one more incident with a blue gs150 r whose tank was also had some rust in it.and this all is happening in malad suzuki which is the main dealer of suzuki in mumbai.

Have you ever considerd that the bike you had - maybe its tank had been swapped with someone else's?

Sounds fishy but is a Tata like scenario. I would say that you get the tank replaced asap. Them doing the same on paper will itself help you later in future for taking to consumer court if required.

Show them this thread - take a printout. And go to team-bhp, take a print of their skoda thread. With over 100+ pages, and potentially several tens of crores worth of Skoda orders falling through. If the owner is any smart, you should get some free service coupons, the tank replaced.

As is the Zuki is barely selling - they need to deliver exceptional quality to every single customer.

@Raccooon- they let you do that in cars as well. lol

Now I'm more or less sure that this is not a new bike. You should never take the bike which is kept for display/test ride. There mostly will be nothing wrong with the engine, trusting it has run only 2kms. provided they didn't disconnect the speedo cable&use it to give everyone test rides.
Just check whether they have a separate test ride vehicle with 'Test Ride' stickered on it. If it is not there, our worst fear may be true.
Anyways, this will be a lesson learned&next time, be sure to inspect the vehicle well before taking delivery&personally ensure that they take out a new piece from the godown.
As of now, just get all the parts replaced under warranty.

If you mean mototune, I agree.

Else why do you recommend engine oil change for rust in the tank?
