Lost rc and ownership transfer
Hey guys, I'm new out here and I need a little help in a topic I'm totally oblivious of. Recently I bought a second hand scooter from a guy and while having the ownership transferred to my name I happened to have lost the scooter rc in this chaos, is there any way I get through this? I'm in a really sticky position at the moment. Thanks in advance!Tags: None

Query Approved
If the scooter was already transferred in your name, then you need to file an FIR and follow the RTO process to apply for a duplicate RC.
If it's still on the previous owner's name, then you need to make him go through all the hassle!Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Re: Lost rc and ownership transfer
Sadly the rc got lost right before I was going to surrender it. Kolkata rto never works without bribing the officers and I know it is going to cost a lot because the real owner did not even remove the hypothecation on his scooter even after paying off all the debts. Best part he scooted off after giving me all the docs while he has around 11 cases on him worth 1100. So do I really have to file an FIR even if I lost the rc? Tell me the process as to how to apply for a new one..Originally posted by The Monk View PostQuery Approved

Hello issuing duplicate RC is simple if you go through the rto agent .
first you have to check the hypothecated company and issue a duplicate form 35 for the removal of Hypeothecation and with form 20, 29, 30 please contact rto agent
He will guide you and cost you lesser than if you go directly to the rto office

Yeah the only problem is that the agents are charging me around 9k for the whole thing which I feel is unreasonable..Originally posted by tniteshreddy9 View PostHello issuing duplicate RC is simple if you go through the rto agent .

Re: Lost rc and ownership transfer
Don’t go to agents . First lodge complaint in police than take a printout. After that go to RTO and do neccessary things as per the rules. Consider it as punishment and lesson rather rushing wasting u r time . Be patient things will be resolved slowly but surely
