  • Need help regarding my bike's performance.

Recently my bike:hero ignitor tappets are adjusted after a long time of them being loose(ticking noise since 5th free service). & new engine head threads are also installed(for this my rocker arm assembly was taken off & fitted back according to the timing chain). Spark plug(₹108) is also installed as per schedule. Nothing else was touched. Now bike feels to struggle @40kmph & above unlike before. Also, while overtaking, my bike didn't get the push it used to have earlier & it also gives some jerks during quick acceleration after changing gears.
My bike is 2.5yrs old with 13780kms & with battery/spark plug issues since two months. I'm loosing interest while riding this bike as I'm more or less thinking what might be the problem.
    What should I do now?
    Please help.

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Your tappets have probably been set with way too tight clearances. Was the work done at the ASC or a local mechanic? You need to use a feeler gauge to accurately set tappets. Most mechanics tighten them using pliers based on their ear input.

It was done at ASC as per the service manual(I forced them to do like that). I personally provided them feeler guage & checked myself, it was moving through. Mileage seems fine since I usually ride slow yet with some jerks while shifting gears & quick acceleration. Previously, I even opened engine head myself but then engine head threads gave up & bolts became loose. Now new threads are installed(he said that the new ones are पीतल की चूड़ीयाँ of Rs.80). As only tappets are being touched till now, the issue might probably be due to incorrect tappets settings. Now I'm planning to set them myself as I know the steps to reset tappets but I'm afraid of opening engine head myself regarding those threads. But I desperately want to do it myself. Only tools left are: T-handle to rotate crankshaft for timing & tappet adjusting tool. Can you please tell me the exact T-handle socket size fit for my ignitor crankshaft please?
Moreover, the creepy mechanic(>40yrs) demanded extra charges apart from service charges for the namesake of engine work or overhauling etc. That really disappointed me.

Check timing. Most probably timing set at f mark on crank rather than t mark on crank.

            Happens most of time

              Thanks for replying bro!!
Bro!! How do I know the exact T-handle socket size that fits my ignitor's crankshaft so that I can just go & tell at the hardware shop.
& since new engine threads are installed, so while opening engine head, what precautions should I follow to take care of them or any other bolt that I need to open in future(regarding threads)?
