    R&G accessories Import

    Dear all.

    Happy New Year.

    This is my very first thread and I am in desperate need of expert advisory here.

    I am planning to buy 2018 Honda CBR 650F Red and want to purchase crash protectors, front axel sliders, rear bobbins fender eliminator n all available from R&G site online.
    This is not an issue since I was able to place an order including international shipping charges mentioned on there site.

    Now the issue is,
    1. They have told me to know the custom charges as they will be paid additionally at the buyers end at the time of delivery.
    2. How much would be the custom charges applied on them. Since, I have no idea nor any link in custom department.
    Someone told me its 28% of the total bill.
    3. Should I drop the Idea of importing from R&G and stick to locally available accessories from the showroom or external shops.
    4. Will the importing do any good to me. actually would it be less expensive than buying accessories from the showroom.

    Please share some advice over the issue.

    1. Yes, the buyer pays customs.
    2. Customs could be 28%, could be even more or less. Depends on which category do they put it under. With the Customs department, it is always a lottery! Now with the addition of GST, you also need to pay GST as per applicable rates.
    3. If you are getting similar stuff in India, then it makes sense to avoid the hassle of importing.
    4. Expensive. Depends. On what price are you getting it in India and what price abroad. Add to the abroad price, shipping, Customs and GST and see if it works out substantially cheaper. Else, it is just not worth the headache!
    Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

      The thing is I am About to book 2018 CBR 650 Matt Black this weekend from Honda Wing Delhi.
      I asked the showroom guys about the crash sliders, axel protectors and all but they said they have no link.
      Now I have to arrange the protector accessories from external sources which I have none.

      This is my new experience. I want a robust good quality protector which could effectively manage the bikes 215kg approx weight.

      I tried ordering from R&G directly which costed me 25k approx. including shipping.
      They further added please contact your custom guys for charges update since they have to be paid at the time of delivery.
      If custom charges are 28% than it translates to 7.5k i.e 32.5k and that's heavy.
      I even tried ebay. They showed front rear exel sliders but their are 2 types available. i.e 15mm wheel and for 16mm wheel. and I don't know which one is compatible.
      Quality form ebay is also a major issue.

      Please guide me a decent shop/store/work house in delhi which can be of any help.

        I am surprised that the Honda guys did not direct you to Moto Madness. Moto Madness is one of the guys who either stock R&G stuff or can get stuff for you if ordered. His prices will not be very expensive considering you will pay shipping and nearly 42% custom duties of you order directly. Plus his shop is very close to the showroom as well.
