Be sure that the bulb does not drain your battery. Please visit the 'Let there be Light' thread for more info.
Other suggestions from my side include:
      1. The Bajaj accessory visor-it costs around 3K, but is completely worth it.
      2. Saddlebags preferably from Cramster
      3. Get a small tank cover (just a small patch down the center of the tank, like the Pulsars have). not an Uncle bag.
      4. Teflon coating
      5. Seat cover with steel buttons
If you like, you can get the leather strips hanging type seat cover&side bags too. Depends on your preference.
I would say stick to mineral oil for some more time.
Hope you did your running-in carefully!
      Happy riding!

Just go to a seat cover shop, ask them to take measurement of your tank&have a small leather patch running down the center of the tank. The width of the patch should be as much as the point where it ends&the seat starts (not more than 4"). It will be tied down to the seat bolts under the seat&to the crash guard on both sides in front. If you didn't understand, I will attach pics of my Fiero F2 tank cover. Shouldn't cost you more than Rs.100.

You could have gone upto 60 as it is a 200cc oil cooled engine. No worries, open her up gradually.

Leave it to the Bajaj guys for another 1-2K kms. I say. Later there are various varieties of semi&full synth oils to choose from, depending on your requirements&budget. You can visit the Engine Oils thread for more info.

Alright, I will do that by tomorrow, but you can also check out a few Pulsars with the tank covering leather strip in the meanwhile. You'll know what I mean.

for the light, look no further than the Osram Nightbreaker......seat cover can be your personal choice..but a strict no-no to the engine guard
You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

Does the engine guard actually guards the engine?.
Dont worry the block is made of aluminium alloy and will never get rust. Moreover while negotiating big breakers the guard may touch the gravel.

Bulb you can get changed (still I dont understand why though), I do not find any problem in vision with stock ones.

Seat cover is an important thingy. I got mine done in JC road in a very small chhota shop. He charged me less (maybe he was overwhelmed by the bike looks LOL ) .. the stuff was kinda semi leather quality. 3 years on and still going , no prbs. He did a good job actually.

I recommend u maintain the stock look of the bike. Avenger looks good the way it is manufactured, with mods viz leather saddles, it gives a fake kinda cheapo look. (personal opinion, no offence).

Since beginning I was using Motul 300v factory line and switched to Castrol activ extra 20W50 when there were complaints about the quality of motul. I too faced head leakage problems with it.

I will STRONGLY not recommend tank covers. Due to friction the paint job gets faded after few months. Have seen one of those faded ones at khivraj.

Last but not the least - the cramster bags. DONT ever go for it. I have one and m repenting. The quality is crap and is exorbitantly priced. Mine got melted by silencer from one side due to some curves I have taken. It does not fix properly, not to the extent which can satisfy you. The only reason people buying it is bcoz there is no other option in market. If you r really serious about it then get one from abroad for a similar price. Check for Kawa eliminator accessories over the net.

if you take my recommendation, Save the money ( whch is itching in your pocket) for fuel and good quality engine oils. Maintain the bike in stock as much as possible and it will be with you forever. Till date I have no comlplaints with my bike, its in complete stock though I have got many itches to modify it but somehow saved myself.

here is my bike, still in stock, still smiling though she has got a "souten" still she never complaints.

                      Speed Pujari,

Don't bad mouth Cramster if you are having a few issues that might be specific to your case. Take it up with Kirti at Cramster INC. He will surely address your issues satisfactorily. Have you tried that?

They ARE NOT exorbitantly priced and the quality is great for the price. Kindly look at the prices of saddle bags elsewhere before you pass such sweeping statements. BTW, if you are leaning deep into corners, you should get yourself a tank bag, not a saddlebag.

                      Cheers,
                      Jay

@ayprashanth, the matter would have been an exceptional case if it was limited to me.
Speak to some more senior fella viz prabhubravo, john, chetan etc. who had similar experiences on bikes such as Comet, P220, P200, P150 and Bullet.

As a matter of fact the saddle bag is not water proof. This is itself a sign of exorbidance and it fails the eligibility for it to be a saddle bag meant for touring.
The quality of stuff is no more than cheap school bags sold in shivaji nagar area.

This is my observation and experience (plus few more guys). I have no personal war with cramster guys, they are very well behaved , I appreciate.
People are free to buy the stuff if they want to.

                        Peace.

that is a great pic. bike looks great. this is really the best colour for the Avenger.

coming back to the pic. if only that tripod wasn't there, or at least if it was in the right background, this could actually have been a promotional shot. as it is, good work.

There once was a woman who was quite begat.
She had three babies named Nat, Pat, and Tat.
She said it was fun in the breeding,
But found it was hell in the feeding
When she saw there was no tit for Tat.
