I got my racing boots and knee guard from that site around 6 years back, for a total price of 14k. found it totally reliable. was happy with the service, though had to go our indian customs in bangalore and pay some amount to get them released.Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostTopic Approved.

One more question:- I've heard that customs charge the duty from the delivery company, which takes the extra amount at delivery time, from the customer?
So, why did you need to approach the customs yourself?
Also, any other suggestion you want to give to the original thread starter?---

Re: Buying from international online sites
I was actually waiting for the delivery so enquired the local postal service and they mentioned that it might be stuck at the branch office of customs, hence I went to the customs and ran around pillar to post asking guys for the details of my consignment, for what seemed to be a money making opportunity for these folks. Had to pay another 3k to get it cleared. My sweet indiaOriginally posted by Samarth 619 View PostI see. Thank you so much for the valuable input.

Re: Buying from international online sites
I've never bought from them, but they look legit. They're US-based and have an actual street address, so you should be fine. It's also promising that they will do international shipping. Pretty much any US retailer is going to be a real store, and will generally do their best to provide good customer service. I will say that, from experience, ordering from India is a major hassle for any international retailer, so do everything you can to make the process smooth. I ordered something from the US last time I was in India, and the process turned out to be such a nightmare that the retailer ended up cancelling the order and declaring that they would no longer ship to India.
As mentioned upthread, you will need to track the shipment carefully, and will almost certainly have to proactively deal with Customs in India, quite possibly at the receiving port, to get the shipment through. I recommend starting by talking to customs or at least reading through the import requirements, and getting any forms and Demand Drafts ready ahead of time. You might even see if you can get a Point Of Contact in customs so you don't have to waste time trying to track down your shipment. Once you have that end in hand, place the order, and track it carefully. When it reaches India, submit the forms and payments, in person if you can.
If you have everything ready ahead of time, and make the Customs agent's life as easy as possibly i.e. you have your forms ready, your payments in hand, and have notified them when the shipment is due to arrive and what the tracking number is etc etc, you should be able to get your stuff.
Alternately, there are a few companies based in India that you can order through that will handle all the customs hassle for you, though they cost more. PPOBox is one, and there are a few more. It might be worth looking into them to see if using their service will make things easier, even if it ends up costing a little more.ATGATT: All The Gear, All The Time!
