  • Engine vibration after overhaul

Hi friends, yesterday I got major engine repair work done for my 2006 pulsar 150 DTSi, since piston and block were in mint condition they were only cleaned and decarbed, instead of change, mechanic also replaced the valve set, timing chain and tensioner. However, now my bike is vibrating like a 2 stroke engine on all engine rpms, it is nearly impossible to ride it, the mechanic is now not listening i lost my money, as per him vibrations will reduced with time, please suggest what, can i do now ?

    Topic Approved.

When you get the first service done at around 250-500 kms after the overhaul, you should feel lesser vibrations.

If you feel the vibrations are too severe, then you might have to open and reseal the engine, this time keeping the following points in mind:-

    1. Stop riding the bike and ensure that it has enough engine oil,

    2. Tighten all the bolts using the electric tightener, using torque values from the Bajaj's service instruction manual. Service centers have this manual.

    3. Ensure that all the gaskets are there, and in good condition. Replace if necessary.

    4. Ensure that all the parts replaced are of your bike's particular generation only.

Since the piston and block were not changed, I'm not able to see why this should cause such a severe vibration problem. But there's only so much we can understand from text you typed. More info would be quite helpful.
