hi
i have recently purchased a used 2000 model bullet machismo 350 ......i am experiencing problems with gearbox and starting.......


1) gearbox :-the gearbox has been giving problems since purchase . the bike goes into false neutrals and while downshifting the gears don't engage and get vroom sound but bike doesn't respond (ie behaves like in neutral)....
when i get get the clutch adjustment done this solves the problem temporarily but after a few days the problem resurfaces .....
my mechanic says he will have to open gearbox and check ,then only we can find problem

2) starting :-another problem is that the bike doesn't start without choke then also its takes quite a while .....even in summer it does not start without choke....
mechanic says its the problem with decompression

3)also the bike engine's rpm's and speed do not seem to match.....
i tried riding alongside my friend and my bike showed 55 km/hr on the speedometer but his bike(tvs victor) speedometer was showing 40km/hr this was surprising since our speed was the same ......mechanic says he would have to check the engine after opening it up


i have no idea about whats causing these problems ....am really frustated please help.....any suggestions would be appreciated
