The issue seems to be of Cam Shaft Timing Chain misadjustment. Let us know of the actual cause.

^ +1. Weird noises like tak-tak from the engine surely mean a misaligned/worn timing chain. While you are at it, get the valves adjusted too.

My CBZ had the sound, but ii did not go completely even after the timing chain replacement. The "expert" mechanic I know (diff than the HH guy who did the work) said that the work done was worthless since the sound still comes.

The 200 is just a rebored 180 with a so called "Oil Cooler" right? No harm in trying that mechanic for ur 200 IMO.

Richard...the guy has quoted me 2000 bugs which includes my Clutch plate work ( clutch plate costs around 696 something like that) ...

So say 1.4-1.5 K for Chain timing and Adjusting the piston valves + any other problem

arre work would be this - timing chain (~600 year back), clutch plates (~1200 2 years back) and then some valve work if required.

                just get a good mechanic.

                  Does the problem persist?

BTW: under warranty, you can get it done for INR0.00

Hey bro, I reached a little late, probably by 7.30 that day and you left .. I saw your bike though...
Even he quoted me the same price where I am getting the piston re bored by 0.25 or 0.5mm + valves and timing chain (replaced I guess)...
I was looking to to put the 180 or 200 block piston kit rather than re boring it but he said it might require a new head .. Lets c how it goes...
BTW, hows this mechanic ? Have you tried him before or is it your first time ?
And does someone have any idea as to how much would a 180 and 200 block piston cost ? Would I have to change the carb or upjetting would do the work ?

Here is the summary of the problems that my engine had.

                      1) Piston rings had gone loose and teared a bit.
                      2) The chain inside the engine was also gone ( Not that gone, but it was nearby to it).
                      3) One of the rocker had completed his age.

So here goes the story about it.

After fitting the K & N R1100,my bike was overheating (coz i havent done the up jetting stuff). So the next day i took my bike to the MECH..bcoz it was overheating and performance had become very poor.

So the MECH advised me to have a engine work done, just because it was making some wierd noises. So based upon that i decided to get the engine work done to find out what exactly is the problem.

So the major challenge we faced here is to get P200 PISTON RING
rest of the parts i got easily...i cheked everywhere in western suburbs to get it,but no luck.

with old piston rings its giving superb feeling and performance.....but i am stilll looking for the new PISTON RINGS.

I enquired about it a lot...and finally ordered it at one of Autopart shop nearby at 500 bugs (orignal costs around 300 bugs).

Also the guy who did all this work advised me to run the bike at 50-55 for initial 1000K ...after maint work is done. Is this a relevant advice ??

Please provide your comments..i will post the pics of the autoparts which were replaced ASAP for reference.

Thanks a lot all of you..
                      Your help is appreciated

eh..dude the effects of not jetting and overheating is not something that will happen overnight.
