  • Replacement carburetor for bike

    Hello,

I need a replacement carburetor for my discover 125. The problem is the current one is auto choke model and sometimes it keeps running till I cut off ignition. many times I let go of the throttle to find the choke still running on it's own. It's very unsafe to drive it. I want to get a carb with manual choke. Now the carbs on AliExpress.com - Online Shopping for Popular Electronics, Fashion, Home & Garden, Toys & Sports, Automobiles and More. looks really good and they have same size as my stock one i.e 26mm. Should i order one from aliexpress? I want to order this one - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Alco...439e4c4dXh4TLf Please help me as it's not safe with current carburetor. Should I buy?

    thanks,
    Akash.

Topic Approved. Moved to help section.

Hmm... Shouldn't be the case. Have you tried showing it to service center?

Secondly, why would you go online, when you can get a carb from an older model in Bajaj Authorised Svc itself?

i have showed it to service center, they are saying the sensor has gone bad and replacement parts are not available since auto choke has been discontinued and new carburetor is available at service center but it is bs4 model and will not work on my bs3 bike. that is why i want to buy a Chinese carb. do you think these carbs are good?

No Need to get such things online - Carbs are widely available & made in India. Service center people are idiots - they do what company tells them - they lack understanding of many things.

Just show it to some reputed local mechanic - he'll fix it by using a lcoally sourced Carb - and he will tinker with it to get exact settings. My mechanic has adjoined pollution centre - so he sets the carb using the data from that sensor.

I've already ordered the carburetor, will there be any problem with the Chinese carb being 28mm and the stock one being 26mm? Also why did Bajaj equipped the discover series with the stupid autochoke system? Can't they just give a manual push pull lever? couldn't they use the bs26 from pulsar 150 and fit it in discover series? Is the manual choke bs26 more expensive than the autochoke carb used in discover 125?
