  • Chain bounces up and down !!

    Hello all,

I own a Pulsar NS 200 from the past six month. From some time back I am observing a strange sound from my front sprocket which increases with increase in speed. Along with that I have also observed that my chain is bouncing up and down when I accelerate on main stand in first gear.

I have checked the wheel alignment and it looks fine to me. I need your inputs on what do you feel the problem could be?? The bike is just 6.5 months old.

    Regards,

    Topic Approved.

Wheel alignment is only in cars, maybe you're talking about wheel balancing?

You may get your chain tightened first.
Have a chain play for 3.5 to 4 cms on the lower chain section, when you move it from upmost to downmost point using your fingers.

First get this done, then tell us all what happened...

How did you check wheel alignment - agreed with mod its usually done for cars as its not normally off in bikes. Saw a video from MCgarage Youtube channel - its really hard to properly check alignment on bike.

I'd recommend setting up the chain like Mod said + get it checked from a mechanic. Also visially inspect the sprockets for sign of wear - if needed replace chain+sprockets - that should solve the problem
