  • Yamaha R15 V2.0 - Engine too ruff and sluggish - Should I go for carbon deposit cleaning?

Hi guys.... In the month of May, 2017 I bought a Yamaha R15 V2.0 for seconds which has ran 13k kms till that time and has been lying idle for almost an year before I bought it. In the initial days the bike felt ok but not what i thought it would feel like. Months passed and I could clearly tell from all those months that there's something wrong with the bike and eventually I took the bike to Yamaha service centre, there those guys checked and instead of solving my problem they did all the other things like setting my handle position right, servicing the bike and charged me a whopping amount of 7k while saying the bike was totally fine. After that for one week the bike felt butter smooth but returned back to it's original state leaving me in a depressed state once again. 4 months passed since then, now I could clearly see that not only the bike became more sluggish but also the pick up has decreased and the engine has become too ruff where I can no longer enjoy my rides without any disappointment. It just doesn't feel like riding an R15. (Recently I have changed the engine oil to motul 5100 15w50 and refilled the radiator also with motul product, still I see no difference). Tired of this, I started reading forums and reviews and I found a comment/review where it was stated that for these conditions one should go for carbon deposit cleaning as the bike had left intact for an year. So I want you guys to help me whether I should go for carbon deposit cleaning or is there any other solution to it?

(So instead of revving my heart, my bike has been weakening it. But my love for my bike keeps on thinking about it and made me come here.)

Thank you guys and sorry for my big description........ [emoji120] [emoji120] [emoji120] [emoji120]

Try posting your query in the motorcycle ownership Experiences thread. There is a dedicated thread for R15 V2 and R15 S. Post the query in both threads as the internals of both bikes are same. This will give your query more visibility to the right people, who have been using the bike for years and have lots and lots of experience. I'm sure you will get satisfactory answer there. Cheers
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.
