  • Engine Problem

Hi all, i need some clarification, i owned suzuki gixxer 3 years old and i have done 43k kms. Before two days due to low engine oil level, my engine getting some nasty noise. I have consulted some mechanics every one is saying need to rebore the engine and i have gone to service station they saying it may cost 17k n above. They gave me an option that my bike can exchange more than 40k. I dono what to do whether to exchange and get a new bike or rebore and use the same bike, though it is my first bike i cant able to think what to do and i have planning for next bike after 2 or 3 years. I need help, if i change the bore n piston or can use the same bore with reboring it. what will the mileage after that and give me suggestions.

    Badly in need of clarifications.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Engine Problem

    Topic Approved.

Reboring may help, but only if done correctly by an expert (which is somewhat rare in India). Mileage is not significantly affected, but its general reliability will be..
Reboring is generally done as a modification to increase the cc of your vehicle. I've got it done on my last bike too. It seized once after rebored cylinder was installed...

Better to fit in a new Bock Piston kit, right? Try finding its costs... Fit in an original Suzuki Block piston kit if needed.

Before that, see if topping up the oil, or putting in a little extra oil solves the noise problem or not... If the noise is significant, it may suggest seized engine, then yes, you have to change the block piston.

      Dear Friend
You are going for a denoting. Before that I would suggest you to perform an engine flush and use new engine oil then see if it help .
Thing is no body is going to say no to rebore. But this should be your last effort.
      Hope it helps.
