I was really tortured since 3 weeks as my PULSAR 180 UG4 failed to start. It ran around 25,000 KM only since 9 years. When my bike was running with vibration sound of loose timing chain then all the local mechanics and even BAJAJ service centre ignored to replace the timing chain and said nothing was wrong with it. Now when the wall seal was broken inside the engine then the local mechanic said that it will cost around Rs.7000 to repair the existing parts while the BAJAJ service centre said that the estimated cost will reach Rs.15,000 (FIFTEEN THOUSAND RUPEES). Can anyone please let me know how much will be the service charge and labour charge to replace wall seals and piston of PULSAR 180 if I give it to the BAJAJ service centre as their estimated price of BAJAJ service bill is Rs.15000. Is it true price or are they charging more than necessary?

I purchased new Exide battery, new motor starter as they told that both are weak even though now both are working fine as the old Exide Battery shows 11.84 volts and the motor starter spins smoothly when I removed it outside and tested it with wires. I even cleaned the armature and copper brushes inside the motor starter.

There are lots of YOUTUBE videos but only few mention the service charge for small things.

When should I go to service centre and should I blindly pay and nod whatever they say and get fooled or confirm from all sides and stay wise and pay what is required.
I am really sad since 3 weeks.
