Re: Hard gearbox
Is the first service over? Check if the clutch cable free play is 10-15 mm when measured at the "ball end" of the lever. If it is too much, clutch won't disengage fully. Maintain correct chain slack (25 mm) and keep the chain well lubed. Engine should have correct quantity of 10W-30 or 40 oil. I hope you are following the correct technique of shifting - all the 3 actions - pulling in clutch lever, rolling off throttle and moving the shifter pedal are near simultaneous. Throttle, even if kept slightly open will result in hard shifts. The gears spinning on different shafts need to be deaccelerating to mesh smoothly.Originally posted by #bpk View PostHi, i have recently purchased 2018 hornet and clocked around 770kilometers, my gearbox is slightly hard and makes sound while shifting from 1st to 2nd gear, and the gearbox becomes more hard after engine is heated up. Re: Hard gearbox
Yes, 1st servicing is over, and i shift according to your way of shifting, chain slack is also perfect, clutch setting is also good, chain is lubed too, recently new oil is poured at 690 kilometers. Honda svc says that it'll take about 3000 kilometers to compeletly smooth gearboxOriginally posted by ashwanth.r View PostIs the first service over?
