  • Need advice on Tyre Puncture

Can I repair my classic 350 tube Tyre puncture by removing the nail, putting slime from the outside on the Tyre from where the nail pierced in (instead of filling slime into the tube) and filling the air with pump?

      Nope.

Slime, even when used properly, ie. put inside the tube, is not meant to be a permanent solution. it is supposed to temporarily plug the hole and not allow the air to leak for a few hours, so that the rider has time to find a puncture repair shop and get it fixed properly and permanently. That includes taking out the tube from the tire, finding the hole, applying glue and then patch.

To summarize Slime is supposed to a cheap alternative to tubeless tires. A "Jugaad" if you will, so that you might not get stranded in the middle of nowhere. The tire loses air and slime if the puncture is not repaired soon. Speaking from experience of a age old active user which came with slime right from the factory. They called it "Tuff up" tubes. Kids learning to ride in about 2005-2007 would remember what I am talking about. It came factory fitted to Activa, Dio, Pleasure and all other popular scoots. It holds air for a few hours, if puncture is not fixed and the bike is stationary overnight, It would leak all the air and slime on to the rims and make a great big mess. No wonder the gimmick is no longer used.

The application of slime on the outside of the tire will make no difference whatsoever. Drag it to a puncture repair shop and get it patched properly.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.
