  • Honda X-Blade - Is it possible to steal Petrol?

I have recently booked an X-Blade and I am yet to get it from the showroom. The showroom guy mentioned something about Honda Hornet which tickled my mind. In Hornet there was no carburettor and the petrol gets injected directly into the engine unlike X-Blade or Unicorn. This essentially means, the tube leading to the carburettor (again, this goes through the reserve valve) can be removed and petrol can be stolen. Is it true? Any X-Blade Owners?

I think that all carbureted bikes are prone to this. Not just x blade.

Yes absolutely! I got to see this in the showroom. In fact, even Hornet has Carborator in it(the sales guy probably made wrong statement). Only those vehicles that has direct fuel injections are safe in this aspect.

Just check to see if there is any fairing covering the fuel stopper. If no, then it's easier to steal i believe

There's a carburetor in hornet , in xblade also there's a carburetor drain screw , with the help of which petrol can be stolen [emoji23]

The solution to this problem is using a key lock for fuel, it fits under the tank & provides a way to lock the fuel, instead of the stock lever having Res/Off/On setting.
