Suzuki gixxer 3rd gear problem
I have purchased suzuki gixxer 155cc on 6-august-2018, for the first two days it was working fine and good, i am using this bike for my daily commute, but after third day, i am facing problem in my bike, like it is taking stress on the engine when i ride it 35-40kmph in 3rd gear, as i use it for my daily commute i face lot of traffic in my way, and i get very few spaces where i can go in 4th or 5th gear, taking stress on engine in 40kmph in 3rd is normal or there is some major issue in the bike, please help,

Hope you're following the running in as per the manual? You have to ride slow for the first 2000 kms or so...
If your bike has completed about 300 or so kms, just go for the first service and the oil change.
Things will smoothen out after this service...
Even if the first oil change is done a little earlier, no issue, in fact its better overall.
In fact, when my dad got Discover 125T from the showroom, he got oil changed at only 190 kms because of harshness, and it wasn't oil which came out, but blacky sticky muck! It was this bad!
Then eventually after the oil change the bike did well... and still going great.---

Its common in new bikes even in my new hornet 2018 (1300km run ) bije feels stressed in 3rd gear, but it's improving, i think at around 2000 kilometers everything will be fine.Originally posted by Aadi1118 View PostComment

I am pretty sure the OP has never heard about running-in and he is just riding the hell out of his gixxer while lugging the engine, half clutch and what not. He keeps talking about 40 kmph in 3rd gear but he never told us how fast he accelerates till 40 kmph, he needs to drive calmly and uniformly. He needs to read a lot about running-in and what not to do.
Right now, I would suggest him to change the engine oil outside the service center with the company recommended oil and start riding sensibly after that. Also perfom the 1st free service within 10 days, don't wait for the one month time limit.Comment
