  • Dominar 2017 Fuse related problems: light, horn, brakes blowing up constantly

    Hi All,

My dominar 400, after 1400kms ride suddenly having a weird problem. Its lighting fuse is getting blowing up. lighting fuse controls indicators, brakes, lights, horn etc.
I have installed after market RAM type mounting with charger connected to battery and Coocase with tail light (Done in Khivraj service center) which currently the wires are disconnected.
I went to local Bajaj SVC and am not able to get it resolved. Due to hectic time in work, i am not able to go to Khivraj SVC. But if any body has come across this type of problem, please let me know how you have resolved it. As of now my ODO stands at 6,500~kms.

    Thank you.

    Regards,
    Abhijith Bhat

Wires are disconnected, but are they left open? In such case it may be grounding and pulling more electricity causing fuse blow out. Nothing can be assumed here. You will need to strip the bike and get all the wires inspected. It need not only be the charger or coocase wires But first disconnect the charger from battery and the coocase wires get it taped. Then check if the issue is resolved. Otherwise do the full wire inspections. Till then carry spare fuses.
There are no short-cuts to any place worth going. So ride safe when you are treading uncharted roads.

        Thanks for the response, Pranyan,

Disconnected means both positive and negative is taken completely out and separated. Already blown 6 fuses, it blows as soon as i switch on. Talked to Khivraj-Kasturba road service personal and as you mentioned, entire wires will be checked one by one. I am planning to go on Saturday and will update the thread.
