    Topic Approved.

That's a very good mileage you got on your bike. If its working fine, no need to change anything.

If the engine starts giving trouble, then only you get your engine overhauled, which is normally around 1-3 lacs kms, depending on use factor. That means, major parts of the engine like block piston kit, etc.

If its working ok, don't touch it.

      I agree with Samarth sir.
Why fix if it isn't broken. And if you try to open the engine to make it better and it is not done properly, there will be a lot of new problems due to shoddy job done by the mechanics. By the looks of it, you have been taking very good care of your bike, keep it up and you will have many more happy and trouble free miles on it. I once talked to an insurance agent who had about 6 lakhs kms on his splendor (1998 model) and still going strong. These Jap really know how to make a reliable and long lasting engines.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

          Now that's a Honda!

Thumb rule is to keep riding as long as there is no drop in oil levels and there ain't any residue in Spark Plug tip or exhaust tip.

If you're a stickler for accuracy then do a compression check, a CBF 125 in top notch condition should be returning 185 PSI which won't be your case but anything between 125 to 150 PSI is acceptable, go in for an overhaul once you drop below the recommended range.

I guessed you would be changing it every 2000-3000 kms but the 10W30 was a surprise. Keep riding and enjoy your CBF125.

I would pick 10W40. If it is fully synthetic, you need to stretch the interval to 5000-6000 kms otherwise you will end up wasting both the oil and your money.

Your experience proves a good mineral oil changed often (2000 km interval) gives wonderful result (2.5 lakh bore life). Consider staying with mineral. Lets see what Ashwin and others have to say.

Yes you can, but I would not recommend it as people tend to extend drain intervals when using premium oils which is not a good practice as friction alone is not the only cause of oil wear and tear, contamination can be in the form of cylinder blow-by, clutch wear and tear etc. So unless you do not mind changing a 1000/- oil at 2k change intervals I would suggest you stick with a decent oil that is reputable and cost effective.

My personal choice is Shell AX5(Motorcycle Oil)/HX3(Diesel/Petrol Car Oil) 20W50 costs around 250~280 per liter and is a reliable and consistent performer, I run the same on my CT100B as well which has a recommended grade of 10W30 but I still go with 20W50 as it puts my mind at ease, HX3 is slightly cheaper than AX5, I go for whatever among the 2 is readily available at the cheapest price.
