    NGK PLATINUM SPARK PLUG and Petronas fully synthetic oil FOR HH CBZ EXTREME

    hey guys.. i've a cbz extreme 2007 model .. i plan to change the spark plug to NGK G-power series. . i.e. platinum spark plug .. it is available for Rs.175 in hyd .. do you guys think there will be improved performance ? ?

    Is it advisable to change the spark plug or can I do without the change as well ? ?


    Also How good is Petronas synthetic oil for CBZ ??

      Go for it eyes closed! If the Iridium were to be available, that would have been a better choice, but I think it is not there for the Xtreme.
      Also, what is the grade of engine oil recommended in your manual? If it is 20w40 then it is a perfect fit. Many of us here are using Petronas full synth oil 10w40&are very happy with it. Contact HydBiker if you want some cans, he always gets a crate shipped&we take it from him.

        CBZ-x is 10W30 SJ and i think castrol power 1 semi synthetic is recommended. Though i don't know full synthetic oils with 10W30 rating

          Tough to find a 10w30. I guess you can comfortably go with the Petronas full synth, being the cheapest full synth option there. There are many other semi-synths available, check the Engine Oils thread for more info.

            Once you use a synthetic it would be very hard to go back to mineral oil.
            Petronas users say its even better than castrol power 1 racing poor Castrol.I think its available for Rs400 go for it with your eyes closed.

                        The Hunk shares the engine with CBZ-X. Same stuff goes in for you too.

                          One more question

                          I have a P180 UG III.. I recently fitted a K&N on my bike ( without upjetting the Carb). My question, how will fitting NGK Iridium's affect the performance? I know that fitting a performance airfilter ( without upjetting)makes the AIr-Fuel mixture leaner and also know that iridiums are used for complete combustion of leaner mixtures..All said and done. Is there any improvement in performance? MY friend says " dude, there is not gonna be any change man". Is this true???
                          ANother question. I use Castrol power1 Racing. Is the petronas fully synth oil so good?? I feel the power1 racing is great ( while comparing with minerals).

                            ur friend might be correct. You might not really find any difference with NGK Iridium plugs. But before all this pls upsize your jets...

                            BTW, the Prtronas costs abt 60% of the Castrol's cost. It is good. As for comparison, why don't you try it at your next oil change and let us all know the outcome....?
