  • Yamaha Rx 135 sounding like Mopped

    Hi Guys.

Thank You for clicking on this post in order to help me. Gods swear, your help will be really appreciated

I got 1998 Rx 135. I'm facing an issue where in if I go slow or low on rpm bike runs ok (Not Good). When I open the throttle, for few seconds it will accelerate and later it feels like sluggish. As if some one has pressed the brakes all of a sudden and the sound of the bike would change in way that if you hear it your ears would start bleeding or maybe good way to describe is, it sounds like a badly maintained Mopped.

Imagine recording your voice like Phat Phat Phat Phat and playing it at 16x Speed.... Just like that Yamaha was not supposed to sound like this ever.

Now I have a feeling this is because of wrong settings on Carburettor. Currently the mixture screw for air & fuel is 1 1/2 turns out, have also tried 2 turns or 2 1/2 turns out but no luck.

😣😣😣Please if someone can guide me on the default settings for the carburettor from factory it would be of great help😣😣😣

Please note things that I have tried already is cleaning the carb with petrol. Jet looks all clean. Have tried changing the spark plug but no change. Haven't bothered myself with the CDI but I guess that's not the concern.

😶 Please help at the earliest 😶

has the inner core been modified ? is it there inside the exhaust ?

using autolube or mixing 2T with Fuel ?
any gasket leakage near hear or any exhaust leak near the bend pipe connection. these are the only things i see that would alter the sound.

I'm not sure if I'm lucky but this bike has been a nightmare, not sure if this is because of my luck or the mechanic I got.

So the issue I was facing was due to the extra fuel going into the cylinder... By changing the slide to level 2 it was somewhat resolved but not to the fullest....

Currently it's the crank bearing making noise, piston is knocking and that sound is to the outmost level that I explained earlier. Power loss is @85%. What I imagined was fun and wow feeling riding this however it's turning out to be humiliating... Thinking to make a video in order to highlight all the issues however not sure if I can post the YouTube link in the forum. If someone can answer this it would be of great help.

I have spent almost 50k Restoring this bike and now I'm tired please guide me so that I can enjoy riding this bike.

Head has been borred and now it's has a 100 Number Piston. Other than that nothing usual.

          Waiting for your reply....
