  • Apache RTR 200 4V does not rise in speed as it did before.

I've had the 200 matte black for a bit over an year now and I feel like it isn't giving out that much power. The RPM seems to go up slower. I may just be something in my mind because I've become more passive of a driver than before, but once before I took it to the service center and they fixed it. They refused to tell me what they did. I asked a lot and they kept changing the topic and somehow managed to lose me. Now it feels like that again.

I have a hunch that it's something about the clutch. I'm going to install the slipper clutch as soon as it's available and see if that's the issue. But I'd really like to know if it's something else.

    Cheers.

If your clutch is slipping then you will see rise in RPM in speedometer but your motorcycle wont speed. if it is losing power chances are mostly air filter. the engine need air to run and if your motorcycle can't get enough air if won't run smooth. Replace new air filter on your own (it's very easy and air filter is cheap) and see if the problem goes away. basically you need to change (not clean) your air filter time to time(it's like engine oil). Other than that the carburetor air fuel may be out adjustment (but it hardly happens). Check brake too if it's too tight or rubbing something.

Sounds like a faulty vacuum piston, you could temporarily get it fixed by tapping the carburetor with the throttle open.

If your motorcycle is under warranty get the carburetor replaced.

Determine the exact point of leak and replace, washer/banjo bolt/O-Ring.
