. if this is the case, am wondering how this check will be done in other pulsars which are given for service.. i think this check will done only on demand. that too at a cost....

How much KMS did you cover so far ?
The re-filling costs about Rs.40-60. And, re-conditioning the shocks is not at all recommended. If it's time to replace the shocks, then the replacement is the best option."The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat" - Lily Tomlin

i got the gas refilled in the shockers of my pulsar... but seriously speaking i dont feel any difference before or after filling the gas.. bajaj service center charged 100 bucks for the gas... its not very expensive so you can also give it a shot .. might work well in your case.. if it doesn't.. get the shocks replaced

Depends on your riding habits... my service centre told me not to touch it until I cross 10K (cause I roamed only on city roads). They do however suggest you to fill up Nitrogen gas if you are unsatisfied with the performance. I don't think its worth doing it, better to fix a genuine new one.Originally posted by RascalAngel View Postwhat is the lifetime of Nitrox Shocks?I somehow feel the normal HeroHonda Shocks are way smoother than the nitrox one.(We have a spendour and a pulsar 150).Safe riding prolongs life (bike & rider & public)

Well even i am facing the same problem . I ride a 2006 apache 150 and bike has covered 55k kms. Now the rear shocks are completely gone . I am planning to fit the pulsar's shocks on my bike as they are cheaper because apache's are around Rs 1600 each !!Originally posted by GP_freak View Postyup, that was a wrong quote from one of a local mech.. today i checked with the bajaj service centres and they quotes 846 a shocks. I also want to go for the pulsar's shocks because the ride will be much better although i know i will lose on the handling front !, but i have to save my back anyways

the damping factor for any shock absorber depends on the damping media as well as the internal design of the shocks. two shocks having same internal fluid may have different damping factors and vice versa.Originally posted by RascalAngel View PostDo the Gas Filled Shock Abs. actually give smoother ride than normal ones?
using the nitrox instead over of the oil improves the responsiveness of the shocks to the road conditions, which is again subjective to the design as well.
bajaj pulsar and HH hunk both have nitrox shocks; but hunk feels lot more smoother than pulsar.
Now comming back to thread querry, there is nothing to recondition in the nitrox shocks (advisable). we can only refill the air in the shocks to regain the original pressure.RIDE IT !

+1. My shocks have become damn hard in 10K kms. I have refilled gas twice, still no improvement. Adding to that the stupid mechanic also made the setting of shocks to STIFF. My back is broken almost every pothole.Originally posted by pavanchirmade View PostIts pointless refilling the gas in the shox of a pulsar. I had to get them changed when they lost the damping. They cost somewhere around 1500 not more than that
Will have to change the shocks this time.

No idea about the cost. But if you are thinking of installing them on your pulsar then chuck the idea. Those are too soft for a pulsar. The bike keeps bouncing when riding alone and the height reduces a lot when with a pillion. A friend had installed those on his P150UG3Originally posted by RascalAngel View PostAny idea how much Hunk Shocks cost?

Hunk's rear shocks costs nearly 1800 per piece.
