  • Help Needed Regarding Engine Number

    Hello Guys,

I need some urgent advice regarding engine number of one bike. My friend bought used Karizma R 1 year back. While buying, the bike was crisp and engine and chassis number matched perfectly. But it has come to pass that the chassis number might be punched. The original owner cannot be contacted anymore to check if he has the original engine cover with OE punches. This will create problems at the time of re-registration.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix the situation? Also, does anybody know any HH employees who can get us an OE punch on a new engine cover?

    Thanks,
    Soumyajit

You mean engine number is punched? If its not really looking like messed up numbers then don't worry, officers who issue new rc dont check thoroughly, for my bike he just checked chassis number and asked me start a bike, even my bike had different color than mentioned in rc, still i got new rc without any hassle

I have heard that too but was thinking of playing safe. I have heard that it sort of depends on their mood and god forbid if the guy is cranky when we arrive, and who knows what changes in rules would be in place 8 years down the line.

The numbers don't look messed up as such but one digit occurs twice and one of them looks visibly different from the other. So it is pretty much a tell-tell sign. My friend was not that knowledgeable so he just matched the numbers.
