  • Need help in restoration and registration of vintage motorcycle

    Hello xBhpians

I have a 1987 Yamaha RX 100 in stock condition and a Rajdoot 175 with me in almost extinct state.

I got the Rajdoot from a donor while RX 100 I got it as a used one. I am aware of the need of documentation for any vehicle but sadly I don't have it for these two motorcycles.

I plan to restore these two bikes since I have some free time in coming months. I don't plan to ride them regularly but to keep restored and in the garage.

Any idea on how to get the vehicles proper documentation even if it means scrubbing the entire history and starting afresh?

    Thank you

From what I know, you cannot get the proper documentation, you either have it or don't. No matter how old a bike is, RTO requires you to have the original Registration Certificate (RC) along with properly signed Ownership Transfer forms. Without these documents, you cannot get the vehicles registered to your name. You should have asked for these docs during purchase.

Now that is the legal aspect. But this is India. With a little bit of setting and jugaad with the RTO guys, who knows what is possible. But you cannot do anything legally, that's the bottom line.

      Thanks,
      Soumyajit
