Gixxer 155 2018 not crossing 114kmph

Hello Friends,

I own a Gixxer 155 2018 model. I have purchased this bike just 2 months ago. As I have seen in many YouTube videos, the Gixxer cross 120 kmph very easily, but not with me. I have tried so many times, but all the I can manage is only 114 kmph. My bike doesn't cross 114 kmph.

What to do?

Hello Aadi,

As an answer to your query you must first understand that the top speed of motorcycles depends on a lot of factors. Cubic capacity and power are the basest of those things. Weight of the rider, position of the rider, tyre pressure, wind speed etc etc.

We have used the Gixxer SF extensively which is the faired variant of your steed and even that one struggles to go that far. Yours is without the fairing and therefore the obvious lack of aerodynamic efficiency coupled with the above mentioned factors might be a reason behind this.

We'd say that a 155cc motorcycle doing triple digits is good enough and we'd also recommend you to not go chasing the top speed achieved by someone on YouTube.

The Gixxer is a fantastic motorcycle so we recommend that instead of chasing those numbers, just enjoy the ride.
