  • Help needed with bike re-registration

    Hi,

I have an old Pulsar 2003 model 150cc which I have brought to Hyderabad from Bangalore( KA registered).

Unfortunately, I forgot to see the registration expiry date, and it has since expired on 22nd October.

Is there any way I can get it re-registered in Hyderabad? I cannot go back to Bangalore because of job and personal commitments and I do not want to lose this bike!

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Thanks!

Re: Help needed with bike re-registration

      Hope this helps.

At the moment, you cannot ride the bike since the Registration Certificate is expired and not street legal.

      What you can do now...

      1. You will need to go back to Hyderabad and get the Fitness renewed from your registered RTO.
      a. For that, you will need to have Insurance current and pollution certificate handy.
      b. I hope there are no hypothication endorsed on RC book. If there is, you will need to obtain NOC from the bank to have the Hypothication canceled.
      2. Next step will be to obtain NOC from RTO (that is RTO home state do not have any objection to have the said vehicle registration transferred to another state RTO)
      a. You will need to submit Form 28. Also you should be aware of Bangalore RTO name/number KA-XX. This is required since the NOC will be supported by Form 28.
      b. Apply with Form 20 (registration - like a new vehicle) in your new state.
      c. You will need to have Purchase Invoice of the vehicle handy since Karnataka RTO demands so that they can calculate the tax payable(pro-rata).
      3. Obtain Police Clearance Certificate (check with your RTO if that is required).
      4. Keep the following documents with sufficient photocopies handy.
      a. RC Book Original
      b. Insurance Certificate
      c. Pollution Certificate
      d. Form 28(Triplicate copies)
      e. NOC
      f. Aadhaar Card
      e. New state address proof.
      5. Agents - All these steps can be done by ourselves if we could spend some time from busy life. However, I would leave it to you how you want to proceed but remember their charges are very high.
