  • Warranty on odometer Suzuki access 125

    Hi,

I own a year old Suzuki access 125 and the odometer has stopped working. I have done the regular and timed services. They are saying we don’t give warranty on odometer and you have to pay for it. Is it true?. If not how to proceed with change? (will shoot an email too to Suzuki)? And how much does an odometer cost ?

    Thanks.

      Is the speedo meter working?

The same wire that moves the speedo meter needle on the dial is responsible for rotating the cogs of the odometer (if its mechanical) or will update the reading on a digital meter.

If it is mechanical, getting the wire cleaned and lubed might fix the problem.
If its digital, I'm guessing the fuel gauge has gone wonky too (not sure).

Either way, first step would be to shoot a mail to Suzuki and if possible call their customer care support number. Then proceed as advised by them.

Taking a close look at the user manual might also give you some insights. Usually if a part is consumable (like tyres, brake pads, clutch plates etc) no warranty is given on wear or tear on such parts. Check if it comes under the list of such parts, it might be mentioned somewhere in the user manual.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Check for the odometer cable, replace if found defective.
Odometer is covered under warranty rather one of my friend got replacement of speedometer under warranty for his 3 months old Honda Activa.
Most of the service Center do try to rip off their customers by giving false statement.
