  • Help: Documentation to be done for Selling the Bike?

    Hey Guys,
Ive just finalized a deal with a friend of mine and am planning to sell my bike at the end of this week.
Can you guys please help me out by telling me how to go about transferring the bike to a friends name, what is to be stated in the NOC and if the Road Tax etc is also to be transferred to the persons name.
    Thanks a Ton in advance,
    TheDevil.

For transferring ownership of the bike, you'll have to procure 3 forms from the RTO.
Form 28(in quadruplicate). (This form is only required when the buyer is from other state)
Form 29(in duplicate, one to be attested)
      Form 30(In duplicate)
The forms have to be filled up and both of the parties will have to sign at the required places and the buyer will have to submit them at the local RTO with the Original RC and attested photocopies of Insurance, proof of address and Identity proof. The seller will get the acknowledgment of the transaction from the RTO within a week and the buyer will get the new RC in 15 days(if within the same state)

      Hope this helps
      cheers
      Manoj

What do I intend to do? Stuff ZMR drivetrain into an Ambition chassis and watch others run scared!

also if the bike was purchased using a loan from a bank then you need to attach a certificate from that bank that the loan has been repaid and is no longer pending.

No, not photocopies. They'll give you two and four forms each respectively

What happens when the buyer doesnt wish to get the vehicle transferred in his name. Like if i sell a bike to a dealer then what is the procedure to pull off a clean and safe deal...

PS- I have heard that Vehicles that are more than 15 years old cannot be registered in Delhi...

PERSEVERE... failure is not an option!

                          One question :

What if the guy needs some 15 days time tio transfer the bike from my name to the buyer's name? I have to take delivery of my cbr in the next week so If I still have my old bike on my name, it'll be a problem. I'll have to pay more tax.
