  • Modifying Karizma R (2008)

    Hello all,

Need some help/suggestions in modifying my Karizma R (2008 model). The bike has just clocked 25K and I have replaced chain sprocket around 3K kms back. I am seeing some rusting around the handle bar and few other places. Finding Neutral is also very tedious, the only way I can get it is when I switch the engine off. My usage include Home <-> Office (25 KMs) weekdays and may be one occasional trip of 100-150 kms in a month. I did consider buying a new bike but I do feel I can easily stretch this bike for 5 more years since it has not clocked more KMs.

I have been thinking of few modifications as listed below:
    • New tubeless types, looking for a bigger size without removing the chain over (I am fine to remove the chain cover as well, but would like a half chain cover like the one in Apache)
    • New headlight (the stock one is very poor, what are the options here? Don't want to go for additional lights, just want to improve the existing setup)
    • New Mirrors
    • Clutch - the play in the clutch is way to much, always gives a feeling its about to break. It has never broken though. Is this the case with all Karizma?
    • Suggestions for good oil that I can stick to (till how have relied either on the hero service center or the local service guy)
    • Going for a black matt finish at some places (like handle bar, nuts and so on)
    • Rear shock absorbers - any gas shock absorbers that fit Karizma R? the existing one feel very stiff.
    • Servicing from a expert for Karizma - Suggestions for Pune please.

Do provide additional suggestions as well, if any. And if all can be done from a single place in Pune, that would be of great help!

    Thanks,
    Rudraksha
