  • TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Gear/Clutch problem

    Hi,

I recently bought an Apache RTR 160 4V around 4 months ago. The bike was running pretty smooth till last week. Now I am facing a weird problem. I once turned off the engine while coming down the slope, I know I shouldn't do that but I did it. Then I held the clutch and shifted gears to neutral and when the slope was about to end, I shifted bike bike in 2nd gear. A huge sound came like "Tuck", I ignored it thinking it was because of gear shifting from neutral to second gear at high speed.

Now this is where the problem began. Now whenever I am riding my bike on 1st, 2nd or 3rd gear and I rev a little and then if I then release the throttle, a huge sound like "Tuck" comes from gear/clutch or whatever I don't know. Also, it affects the bike speed. I face weird engine braking and also the engine braking is not constant, I sometimes get the jerk if I'm on slope or even on flat road.

I haven't used any after market accessories on my bike also I have been using the recommended synthetic oil for my bike.
The bike is just new and I don't want to damage my bike and also don't want to waste my money.

If there is any solution that can solve my issue, please let me know.

      get your clutch assembly checked,
go to ASC and tell them this problem occured while riding normally, you may get it replaced for free.

Solved: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Gear/Clutch problem

Thank you very much for your responses. The problem is solved now, I never thought the solution could be this easy.

This morning, I went to a local mechanic to tighten the bike chain. He took Rs.20 and tightened the chain also did a little bit of chain cleaning.
Later I headed back to my home and Boom! The issue was solved! I was no longer having this Thud sound!

This was just a simple fix I never thought of. Difficult problems often have easy solutions...
